“There it is, up ahead,” Bob said, pointing into the distance.

“You weren’t kidding about those mountain peaks,” Selena said, craning her neck upward to try and see the tops of the mountains.

Though there were no clouds in the sky, the peaks were still somehow hidden, snowy near their tops before they vanished into a sea of mist. It seemed that the mountains were so massive they generated their own weather. The island itself was also quite large, and as they drew nearer, the true size of the mountains became even clearer.

What also became clear was the single path they had to access the island – a narrow pass that rose miles from the actual island’s shores, hemming them in. Keith didn’t slow down though, continuing to speed along, weaving between the jagged chunks of stone rising higher and higher into the sky.

“I don’t like this, bro,” Tac said as the shadows of the towering mountains fell over them. “I think there’s something sneaking around under there. Or multiple somethings.”

Keith leaned forward a bit, trying to get a good look through the surface of the water, when a massive mouth appeared in their path. A gaping maw filled with teeth blotted out the horizon, water droplets spraying all around it. Stone blocked them to their left and right. The monster was so wide that its mouth covered the entire pass.

Momentum would carry them right into its mouth and its crushing jaws would come down without a second’s hesitation, tearing through the carriage and the people it was carrying –or so the monster believed. Keith slammed his hand down on the dashboard to his left – the newest one added by Bologna.

While he’d picked the carriage up over a week ago, he’d yet to really put it through its paces, nor test out the newest mode unlocked by the Ancient-Quality Upgrade Module he’d left with the carriage-maker when he’d dropped it off.

The man had been ecstatic when Keith had come to pick it up, talking his ear off about the new features and especially the new effects. Keith remembered well the upgraded carriage’s new abilities and it was no exaggeration to say that it was one of his greatest weapons when going up against huge and terrifying monsters.

He remembered reading the item’s description after seeing the carriage in person and not really noticing much difference in the aesthetics. Reading it had changed his mind and given him many new ideas on combat inside his upgraded monster killing machine.

Ancient Raid Cruiser – Keith’s Monster Wrecker

Quality: Ancient

Description: A one-off custom-made, hand-crafted, heavy-armored, war machine on wheels with room for six passengers. This carriage is built using hundreds of interlocking layers of mythicallium, osmium, and adamantite, and was then further enhanced with an Ancient Carriage Upgrade Module. This gives the Ancient Raid Cruiser the unique ability to completely shift in shape and function between each of its six modes, as listed below.

The addition of a special seventh mode was added when the upgrade module was integrated.
